This morning i woke up to the sound of a city crew jackhammering concrete just outside my window. I grabbed my h2 and recorded for a while. This file is an edit of the full recording. It contains two bursts of jackhammering, one fairly short and one longer. The background noise is the sound of the air compressor. Toward the end the compressor is turned off and the last of the pressure is released by the jackhammer as it sort of "putters out". This last bit is a bit unique.

A musical santa plush with old, half-used batteries that i recorded 16 years ago. Sorry for the loud sound, the bitrate and the sound quality. I thought the file would still be usable. I don't even remember the equipment used for the sound recording, i think it was an old caraoke microphone connected to a pc with the means at hand.

A night-time birdsong. A simple single bird singing at night. Recorded in the fields above my home at night. The bird seemed to be responding to a particularly bright light in the vicinity hence seeming daylight or even 'dawn'. Recorded adhoc using an iphone!. Cropped in audacity; and saved as aif file. Recording of some new year's celebrations in vienna. Captured using a clippy stereo em172 microphone and a zoom h5 handheld recorder. I positioned the microphone capsules outside the window on the left and right and then gently (almost) closed it. I setup the recorder and rolled the whole evening. This bit was around the apex of the celebrations in that part of town. Sadly some clipping occured, but i chose to upload the unaltered file. So no post-processing has been applied. Cut in ocenaudio. Salvation army is playing at kvilletorget, göteborg. They play 6. 00 pm every wednesday during the summer on the square just outside my house. I put the recorder in my open window. This record is quite amusing: a dog start to yell in the beginning. At 16. 44 do the ice cream truck passes by. Recorded early summer 2015 with a zoom h1 and edited with audacity. A sunday morning soundscape recorded in july of 2017 in a small town in the midwest. Insects dominate, with a window-unit air conditioner in the background. The spike toward the end of the audio file is a very talkative crow. Enjoy. Made with the fantastic sound devices 702 and the rode ntg-2 shotgun microphone.

Several cracks of thunder, with a long booming echo. Recorded with sony pcmd100 on early saturday morning, january 11th 2020. The temperature during this round on wind-driven rain was 56 degrees. Still feels strange to have march weather in january.
